Getting swag can be difficult on Swagbucks, which requires patience and being the right person for the right survey.

Time it takes to earn: It can take a long time to earn points on Swagbucks. This is because the surveys seem to be geared for certain users, yet are open to everyone to apply. For example, you are given a list of open surveys with point values and expected time to complete. However, after the preliminary questions, if you are not chosen, you are kicked back to the homepage and given one point. Like most survey sites, Swagbucks awards points on a 100 points equals $1.00 basis. However, since you will need to apply to many different surveys before being chosen, this cuts into the time you could be earning. There are other ways to earn, such as by using their coupons to shop, answering the daily survey, or watching videos, but these only pay one or two points per item.

Cashout minimum: Swagbucks doesn't offer cash. Instead, you can use your points to buy gift cards, make donations or get cash to your PayPal account. The lowest priced items are 5 points for donations, and you can get gift cards for as low as 200 points. But if you are looking for cash, you need at least 2,500 points for $25 in PayPal cash. Considering the time it takes to accumulate points, this can seem rather daunting.

Payout speed: Funds can take 10 to 15 days to transfer from Swagbucks, which is one of the longest payout speeds I have encountered among online survey sites.

Payout choices: Despite the problems I have with the speed in building up points and the issues with cashing them out, Swagbucks does offer a fairly diverse group of gift cards. These range from online portals like Amazon, eBay, and iTunes, to restaurants like Texas Roadhouse, IHOP, and The Cheesecake Factory, to retailers like Home Depot, Macy's, and Nike. If you are just looking for cash, then you can always opt to have the points cashed out into funds on your PayPal account. The only drawback I have is that there is no option to have points turned into funds and transferred to your personal bank account.

How engaging/fun the site is: Swagbucks is a very fun and easy survey site to navigate. The layout is attractive and user-friendly, and there are plenty of surveys to apply for. Also, once you get through the preliminary questions and are chosen for a survey, the surveys themselves are on interesting topics. Finally, the estimated time tends to be very accurate, so you know going in how much time you will need to set aside for the survey.

Customer Support: I have never had to deal with customer support at Swagbucks. However, there are many dropdown menus with explanatory information. Also, there is an extensive Help section that has provided the answer to all of my questions about the site since I've been a user.

This survey site doesn't rate as high as others do for me. It only pays in the form of gift cards, donations, or paypal transfers. and with surveys having a pretty low points payout (and being quite boring, to be honest), the minimum paypal payout of $25 (2500 points) seems as far away as Mars. Then when you can cashout, it take 2-4 weeks for you to receive your payment.
